The campaign 'Waiting in vain' in the support of the illegally detained Ukrainians in Russia began in Prague Airport, the Czech Republic on February 7 as the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

The campaign is dedicated to the birthday of Roman Sushchenko, the Ukrainian journalist.

The journalist of Ukrinform was detained in Moscow on September 30, 2016. He was accused of espionage. Since that time, Sushchenko has been kept in jail. Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to the Russian Federation with a demand to immediately release the journalist.
