The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine withdrew the draft law No. 2708 on labor, which was planned to introduce a new Labor Code in action. This is stated in the card of the draft law on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
On the website of the Verkhovna Rada the status of the document indicates that the project was withdrawn on March 4, 2020.
Earlier, the monitoring mission of the European Trade Union Confederation, which visited Ukraine on February 25-27, 2020, announced the need for amendments to the draft law No. 2708, which are proposing to introduce new labor legislation.
Experts opposed certain provisions of the draft labor law. In particular, trade unions believe that the bill deprives workers of legal protection, and trade union committees deprive them of the ability to protect them.
As we reported, the initiator of the draft law was the Cabinet of Ministers of Honcharuk (dismissed yesterday), the approved it on December 27, 2019. After that, the document was sent for consideration the Verkhovna Rada.
The most important changes concerned the order of dismissal of an employee at the initiative of the employer.
