Cabinet approves state program for Carpathian region development

Today, October 20, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the state program for the development of Ukrainian Carpathian region for 2020-2022. This was reported by the press service of the government.

The program is aimed at improving the social and economic development of the Ukrainian Carpathians, increasing transport accessibility of certain mountainous areas and includes a wide range of issues.
 
In particular, it mentioned the construction of roads, the creation of new jobs, the development of tourism in the Carpathian region, in particular Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Chernivtsi regions.

 
Earlier the photo taken in Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Zakarpattia, received the sixth place in international photo contest Wiki Loves Earth. The first prize was given to a picture of Lower Kachura Lake in Central Karakoram National Park, Pakistan.

The competition, where participants take photographs of protected natural areas and upload their photos to Wikimedia Commons, was held internationally for the second time in 2015 with 26 countries.
