Many members of the Bundestag, like the Ukrainian people, had high hopes for the presidency of Volodymyr Zelensky, but he continues the policy of his predecessor, Petro Poroshenko. This was stated by the member of the Bundestag Robert Schlund.
“Indeed, this is a very strange process, which, in my opinion, has relatively little to do with the concept of democracy. Many members of the Bundestag, just like the Ukrainian people, in our opinion, had high hopes for Zelensky. Unfortunately, these hopes did not come true," he said.
Schlund also stressed that as of today there is no progress in the Minsk process, rather the opposite.
"In our opinion, Zelensky continues the policy of Poroshenko, and it led to war and the impoverishment of the Ukrainian people. Not the smallest part of the Bundestag members considers this intensified undermining and criminalization of the work of the opposition - as it happens with respect to the presented parliamentary initiative of Viktor Medvedchuk - as extremely dangerous phenomenon", added Robert Schlund.
