British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is preparing to introduce after Brexit new restrictions on low-skilled migrants moving to the UK. The new rules will take effect on the first day after the end of the Brexit transition period in December, as Telegraph reports.

In line with the radically new plans being developed by the prime minister’s aides, the government will actively pursue its policy of migratory cleansing for two years after Brexit. With these measures, the promise of ex-Prime Minister Theresa May to extend the existing rules until 2023, as required by representatives of business groups in British society, will be canceled.

New migration proposals are expected to be submitted to the government this week by the secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Preity Patel. They are designed as part of a broader document on the future UK immigration system.

Recall that during the November 2019 election campaign, Johnson promised that if the Conservative Party wins the election, it will reduce the number of people who come to the country from abroad and do not have qualifications. At the same time, the prime minister intends to support the arrival of "talented personnel" in the country.

It is assumed that the new immigration system will be based on “points” and will be applied both to migrants from the EU and from countries that are not members of the European bloc.

As we reported, UK’s House of Commons has backed Prime Minister Boris Johnson's plan for the UK to leave the EU on 31 January

MP voted 358 to 234 - a majority of 124 - in favor of the EU (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill, which now goes on to further scrutiny in Parliament.
