British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson believes that for London "it is critical" to develop the defense complex because of the growing threat from the Russian side. He writes about this in an article for The Telegraph.
"The threat for Britain from the Russian side is growing, Putin is using hybrid methods for subversive influence on other countries and has relation to "shameless" cyber operations," the minister is convinced.
"To understand the danger coming from Moscow, it is enough to study the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury. Experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons are now analyzing the substance with which the "terrible crime" was committed, the article says.
According to him, for Britain it is "vital" to continue developing its defense capabilities in order to confront such "threats" and ensure the security of the country.
We remind you that Russian diplomats are massively expelled from European and NATO countries because of the poisoning of ex-officer of Russian intelligence Sergey Skripal in Salisbury. Britain accused the Kremlin of using chemical weapons, which led to poisonings among more than 20 British citizens.
