It is noted that the servicemen of the SAS special forces and the parachute regiment have been warned that they may be sent to Ukraine in the near future.
Preparations began after the British Defense Ministry and MI6 intelligence reported to the government about the obvious and real danger to Ukraine and Western countries.
The videos allegedly received by the British military show Russian tanks, armored vehicles and troops accumulating near the Ukrainian border.
In connection with the threat of invasion, according to the agency, a group of British forces was created, consisting of members of the SAS units, a special reconnaissance regiment, medics, engineers, signalmen and up to 400 paratroopers from the 16th Airborne Assault Brigade.
"From 400 to 600 servicemen are ready. Their equipment is packed, they are ready to fly to Ukraine, where they will either land or disembark with parachutes. They are prepared for both options," the message says.
On November 11, Bloomberg reported that the United States of America had warned its European partners about a possible Russian military operation against Ukraine.
According to the agency, Washington's assessments are based on information that the American side has not yet shared with the EU. Officials familiar with the White House say this information is backed up by publicly available evidence.
Also recently, Politico published satellite images of the movement of Russian troops taken by the American space technology company Maxar Technologies, headquartered in Colorado. The images allegedly confirmed information that Russia is again concentrating troops and military equipment on the border with Ukraine.
