Border Guard Service confirms personality of Russian lawmaker aiming to enter Ukraine

Eduard Markin was stopped by the border guard at Boryspil Airport

The State Border Guard Service reported that the lawmaker of the Russian State Duma stopped at the checkpoint of Boryspil Airport is Eduard Markin, the member of Liberal Democratic Party of Russia as 112 Ukraine reported citing Border Guard Service Spokesperson Volodymyr Kachanovetsky.

“Yesterday, in the international airport Boryspil, the border guards found the citizen of the Russian Federation, who is banned from the entry to Ukraine by proper authorized law enforcement bodies of Ukraine. We found out that this person is lawmaker of the Russian State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Eduard Markin. This citizen noted that he aims to Ukraine with a personal purpose. The State Border Guard Service within its competence fulfilled the order of the law enforcement body, the mentioned person was not allowed to come to Ukraine, at the moment, he left the border of Ukraine,” he said.

“The initiator of this order is not the State Border Guard Service so we are not authorized to reveal the content of this order,” Kachanovetsky specified.

Earlier two Irish men came to Kyiv Boryspil from Dublin. During the landing of a plane the passengers took out the symbols of the Russian Federation and ribbons of Saint George, shouting “DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic), come on!”. The border guards banned them from entering Ukraine.
