U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton hopes that possible prosecutor general of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka will have a good working relationship with U.S. Attorney General William Barr, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“I…met with Ruslan Ryaboshapka who is nominated for the position of the prosecutor general. I hope that when his candidature will be approved, he will have a remarkable relationship with our Attorney General William Barr,” he noted.
The main candidate for the post of the prosecutor general is Ruslan Ryaboshapka, the current Deputy Head of the President’s Office. He earlier worked at the Justice Ministry.
During the election campaign, he was the main specialist on law enforcement and anti-corruption policy at Zelensky’s HQ. Ryaboshapka does not deny that he would like to become a new Prosecutor General.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko stated that he would submit a resignation letter as soon as the Ukrainian parliament starts working.
Earlier President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with the urge to dismiss Yury Lutsenko from the post of the prosecutor general.
