US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Ukraine on May 5. The new deputy for political affairs Victoria Nuland will come with him. This is noted in the official statement of the US State Department.
"The Secretary of State will leave for Kyiv, Ukraine, May 5-6," the statement said.
In Kyiv, he will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, other officials and representatives of Ukrainian civil society.
The American diplomat intends to personally reaffirm the United States' unshakable support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and to support it in countering Russian aggression.
Blinken will also insist on continuing reforms, especially in the fight against corruption, which is key to ensuring Ukraine's democratic institutions, its economic prosperity and a Euro-Atlantic future.
Blinken will come to Ukraine with his new deputy.
"US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland will visit London, as well as Kyiv, from May 4 to May 6, 2021," the statement said.
