U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia, not NATO, invaded Ukraine and Georgia. He stated this at a briefing, writes the US Embassy on Twitter.

"Let’s be very, very clear about this: NATO did not invade Ukraine; NATO did not invade Georgia; NATO did not position forces in Moldova against the will of its people. Those are all things, among many others, that Russia has done in recent years," Blinken said.

He also noted that talks about NATO's aggressive policy are groundless.

Note, on the eve of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia continues to gradually build up forces near the borders of Ukraine. At the same time, Stoltenberg criticized the point of view that Ukraine could be a threat to Russia.
