Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky's bill on oligarchs is only the first part of a number of legislative acts. He announced this at a briefing following a meeting of the Council.
"The law on oligarchs is the primary part of a number of legislative acts. The president has instructed the relevant authorities, and in two weeks you will see the next bills in this area," Danilov said.
He stressed that the president is demanding that "the bill on oligarchs be adopted as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, oligarchs in Ukraine will be determined only by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The corresponding paragraph was proposed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his bill #5599 on deoligarchization.
According to the document, the decision to recognize a person as an oligarch will be made by the National Security and Defense Council based on a proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers, a member of the Defense Council, National Bank (NBU), Security Service (SBU) or the Antimonopoly Committee.
