The bill on the imposition of new sanctions against Russia was introduced in US Congress, the draft bill was published on the official site of the Congress.

Republican from the West Virginia Alexander Mooney is the author of the act.

The draft bill provides for restrictive measures against Russia "in response to cyber intrusions by the Government of the Russian Federation and other aggressive activities of the Russian Federation".

It is expected that sanctions will be imposed against those who will be suspected by US authorities of cyber attacks, as well as against those companies which are doing business with Russian intelligence or companies of the military industrial complex.

The bill offers to provide status of law towards the sanctions which had already been imposed due to the complication in Russia-Ukraine relations.

The new financial sanctions will affect oil and natural gas production, construction of oil pipelines and nuclear projects if they are adopted.

Beyond that, according to the new bill, the US State Secretary is to provide Congress with the report about mass media controlled by Russia’s government and affiliated persons, working abroad.
