It is expected that the main topics of discussion at the virtual summit of NATO member countries from Eastern Europe will be security in the Black Sea region and the situation around Ukraine.
At the same time, the purpose of the summit is to coordinate the security positions of the countries of the region.
It is known that the presidents of Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will participate in the virtual meeting.
The White House said that during his speech at the summit, Joe Biden will express a desire for closer cooperation with NATO allies in Eastern Europe, in the Baltic and Black Sea regions across the entire spectrum of global challenges.
Earlier President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that at the NATO summit in June sides will discuss a roadmap for Ukraine's entry into the Alliance.
However, the summit, which will take place on June 14 in Brussels, will be held without Ukraine's participation. The President's Office said that the upcoming summit will be held without the participation of the Alliance partner countries.
