US Vice President Joe Biden may come to Ukraine on January 15 to discuss Washington's support of Kyiv, as well as the need for further reforms in Ukraine. This was stated by former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst, reports Ukrinform.

Officially, Biden's visit to Ukraine is not yet confirmed.

"As vice president, whose powers are terminated, he would like to make harder for the new administration the opportunity to sell Ukraine. Of course, we do not know whether it will be the policy of the new team." - Herbst said.

He also noted that Biden strongly supported Ukraine in the confrontation with Moscow's aggression and urged the senior management in Kyiv to promote key reforms, especially against corruption.

According to Herbst, the US Vice-President "expressed concern that the elected president  Trump can resort to naive policy toward Moscow so it will only facilitate for the Kremlin the continuation of its aggression against Ukraine."
