The incident occurred on Saturday. Biden reached the doctor for an X-ray and CT - just in case. However, it appeared that the "follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures", as Biden’s personal physician Kevin O’Connor said, quoted by Biden’s office.
The Democrat may need a protection boot for the next several weeks, the doctor said.
As is known, the U.S. presidential election took place on November 3. According to preliminary data, Biden triumphed over his rival, scoring 306 votes from states, with 270 necessary to win.
Biden, 78, will become the oldest U.S. President to ever rule the country.
Earlier, we reported that Biden's inauguration would be a scaled-down version of the usual traditions that will not endanger Americans' health amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Democratic president-elect was attacked repeatedly by Republican President Donald Trump for wearing masks and practicing other COVID mitigation measures during the campaign for the White House. Trump, who did not follow the same precautions, contracted COVID-19 himself in early October, and there have been multiple outbreaks among White House staff and in his own family.
