US President Joe Biden had a phone call with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom ahead of a video call to Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, the parties discussed the shared concern about the increase of Russian troops on the borders of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the White House.

"Today, President Emmanuel Macron of France, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Prime Minister Mario Draghi of Italy, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom, and President Biden of the United States held a call," the message reads.

According to the White House, the leaders discussed "shared concern about the Russian military build-up on Ukraine’s borders and Russia’s increasingly harsh rhetoric."

The leaders underscored their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They agreed that their teams will stay in close touch, including in consultation with NATO allies and EU partners, on a coordinated and comprehensive approach.

Earlier, on December 6, it became known that the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The conversation took place before talks between American and Russian leaders Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.

The talks between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place on the evening of December 7. After conversation with Putin, Biden will talk to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
