US President Joe Biden said the White House was studying the publication of the International Consortium for Investigative Journalism (ICIJ) Pandora Papers (Pandora's Dossier). The American leader stated this during a briefing.
Asked about the US government's response to the public investigation, Biden said the White House was continuing to study it at the moment.
"We're looking into that right now."
It is noteworthy that the journalists have exposed over 330 offshore politicians around the world as part of Pandora's Dossier investigation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also mentioned in the investigation.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who was elected in 2019 on a pledge to clean up his country’s notoriously corrupt and oligarch-influenced economy, is also named in the leak. During the campaign, Zelenskiy transferred his 25% stake in an offshore company to a close friend who now works as the president’s top adviser, the files suggest. Zelenskiy declined to comment and it is unclear if he remains a beneficiary.
Ukraine took first place among the countries whose politicians were included in Pandora's Dossier.
