Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin are going to have direct negotiations soon. Antony Blinken, US Secretary of the State said so after the meeting with his Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov. 

Reuters quoted Blinken who said that Washington is ready to cooperate with Ukraine and Russia, assisting in the regulation of the diplomatic process.

According to him, "Ukraine is in no way posing a threat to or seeking a confrontation that justifies a Russian military intervention and that it is now on Russia to de-escalate".

Besides, Blinken claimed that Russia should take its troops away from the Ukrainian border. He added that the Kremlin is aware of the consequences that it could face in case of the aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier, the U.S. official stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to invade Ukraine; however, at the moment, it is not yet known whether he made a decision.
