Poroshenko appreciated the U.S. assistance in the release of Savchenko from detention in Russia (nv.ua).
The Ukrainian President also welcomed the decision of the G7 countries to extend sanctions against Russia. The Head of the Ukrainian state also stressed that Crimea-related sanctions against the Kremlin should be strengthened.
The sides exchanged views on the latest development in Donbas and noted that the security situation there has worsened.
