The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden will join its first-ever international talks on the global economy, Reuters reports.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will participate in an online meeting, which is scheduled for this Friday, with her Group of Seven (G7) peers.
The parties will discuss potential ways to accelerate the world's economic recovery from COVID-19. Besides, they will work on a new legal mechanism that will allow to tax giant tech companies such as Amazon and Google.
As we reported earlier, the White House is willing to resume cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Biden's administration believes that the OHCHR must be reformed, and the most effective way to make it happen is to cooperate with it, abiding by the principles.
"We intend to do so knowing that the most effective way to reform and improve the Council is to engage with it in a principled fashion," said Secretary of the State Anthony Blinken.
