“Hello, friends! This is my new Twitter. I'm slowly coming back to life on the Internet. Now I'll always be in touch: you can write to me or comment at any time, and I'll try to answer it as soon as possible,” the blogger said in the video.
Protasevich assures that he maintains the page himself without any supervision. Answering the questions of the commentators, he explained that the house arrest takes place in a country house together with his girlfriend. He pointed that there was no torture against him in the detention center. “At least it would be unwise to torture me when the world's attention was focused on the situation,” he added.
It is unknown whether Pratasevich really maintains his page by himself. Under Belarusian law, he is not allowed to use communication items during house arrest.
As it was reported earlier, the oppositionist and founder of the NEXTA telegram channel Raman Pratasevich and his girlfriend were aboard of a Ryanair Athens-Vilnius plane that was forcibly landed at the airport in Minsk in May. They were detained by Belarusian law enforcement. Until the end of June, they were held in the KGB detention center. Then they were placed under house arrest for cooperation with the investigation. Protasevich was charged with organizing mass protests, actions that violate public order, as well as inciting social hatred.
