Journalist of the First Region Sergey Gordievich was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison in Belarus. The reason for such a sentence is the “offense” of Alexander Lukashennko and two militiamen as Radio Liberty in Belarus reported.

“Gordievich, the journalist of the First Region, is sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment for “humiliation of Lukashenko,” the message says.

A man is sentenced to a year and six months of imprisonment at general penal colony. A few days of detention and house of arrest were counted as his term. Meanwhile, the written undertaking not to leave the place was changed for taking into custody.

According to human rights protection center Vyasna, he was recognized guilty in three articles - insult of representative of authority due to the duty performance, the spread of deliberately false information or damaging information that contains accusation in the commitment of grave crime and public humiliation of the president of Belarus.

Earlier, leader of the Belarusian house in Ukraine Vitaliy Shishov disappeared in Kyiv. On August 2, he went for morning running and disappeared.
