“Totally, yesterday in the country, for violation of the legislation on mass events until the consideration of the cases on the administrative violations by the court, 313 people were detained,” the message said.
The law enforcers noted that in Minsk, the protesters gathered in groups in different districts of the capital. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry confirmed the use of riot control weapons during the detentions.
According to the human rights center Vyasna, 424 people were detained during the protests in Belarus. The detentions took place in Minsk, Grodno, Zhodzina, Barauliany, Brest, Mogilev and Vitebsk.
On November 29, the Sunday, March of Neighbors took place in Minsk and other cities of Belarus.
Protest actions in Minsk and other cities in Belarus have been running for almost four months. People stand against the resuls of the presidential election that took place in August. Back then, the Central Election Committee announced that Alexander Lukashenko won the race. The Belarusian opposition did not recognize these results; neither do the EU and the U.S.
