The Embassy of Belarus to Ukraine expressed dissatisfaction with actions and statements of the Ukrainian authorities; particular statements are considered ‘unfriendly’ as the embassy reported on Facebook.
“The Republic of Belarus rejects interference in its inner affairs. Meanwhile, the recommendations and advises of the Ukrainian officials, politicians and MPs on the organization of the inner political life in the Belarusian state, estimation of the interaction of the Republic of Belarus with the integration associations are incorrect, not corresponding to the spirit neighborliness and considered to be the attempt of the interference in the inner affairs of the Republic of Belarus, influence on the choice of the Belarusian people,” the message said.
The unneighborly gestures are the statements of the Verkhovna Rada, the President’s Office, foreign minister and number of other public figures on the situation in Belarus, legitimacy of Alexander Lukashenko and situation at the border.
Besides, they condemned the urges of the Ukrainian politicians to hold new elections of the president of Belarus and discussion of the issue on imposing of the sanctions against Belarus ‘on non-existent grounds’. Such actions are considered as the attempt to interfere in the inner affairs.
“The lack of understanding caused by more frequent urges of particular politicians and public figures to cut economic cooperation of Ukraine with Belarus. The trade and economic interaction was always the priority of the Belarusian-Ukrainian relations and main direction in the work of the embassy,” the message said.
The Belarusian side believes that in case of implementation of such urges, the working collectives of the Belarusian enterprises and enterprises of Ukraine that supply goods to Belarus within close production cooperation.
“It is stated that Belarus will independently deal with the difficult situation happened to the Belarusian society. The embassy except the impartial, balanced, not corresponding to the spirit neighborliness and based on the principles of the mutual respect and non-interference in the inner affairs of each other,” the embassy concluded.
As we reported, Ukraine will be calling incumbent President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko merely by his first and last names. He will be referred to as just "Aleksandr Lukashenko", without specification of political status, i.e., presidency.
