Belarus stated that it leaves the EU initiative Eastern Partnership due to the unprecedented sanctions imposed by Brussels as the Foreign Ministry of Belarus reported.

“The Republic of Belarus stops its participation in the EU initiative Eastern Partnership. Belarus starts the implementation of the procedure of the stop of the action of the Agreement on the readmission with the EU. We cannot fulfill our commitments within this Agreement in terms of the sanctions and restrictions introduced by the EU. With deep regret we confirm that the forced stop of the action of the Agreement will negatively influence the interaction with the EU in the sphere of fight against illegal migration and organized crime,” the Foreign Ministry of Belarus stated.
