A bill on foreign agents may be submitted to the Belarusian parliament this spring. It was reported by Oleg Gaidukevich, a member of the House of Representatives and chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, on his Facebook page.
"The law on foreign agents will be considered at the upcoming spring session, I am sure! We will make it happen! The relevant work has already begun," he said.
According to the official, the country needs to apply this law to protect itself from external invasion, Mlyn reports.
As we reported earlier, Germany allocated 21 million euros (25.3 million dollars) to implement the Action Plan Civil Society Belarus initiative aimed at providing support to the Belarusian opposition.
"Let me assure you: Germany and the European Union stand with Belarusians. We have imposed sanctions against Lukashenko and his regime. And we have set up an 'Action Plan Civil Society Belarus' with up to 21 million euro," German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said at the online conference of solidarity.
