Belarus did everything possible to reduce the flow of migrants. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the republic, Vladimir Makei, the country has returned about 2 000 foreigners, writes BelTA.
“Just a month ago, we deprived 30 travel companies of the right to invite migrants from other countries. We detained about 700 violators at the border," Makei said.
He also noted that Minsk has repeatedly offered the European Union negotiations on the issue of migrants. Makei said that the European Union tore up a number of provisions of the readmission agreement, which prevented interaction between the parties.
“We have many times, since April this year, offered the EU to sit down at the negotiating table and start discussing migration issues. They stopped financing projects related to the construction of shelters for migrants in Belarus, a number of projects to strengthen the border infrastructure, "the minister said.
On November 8, hundreds of migrants were seen at the Polish-Belarusian border. Therefore, the Polish government immediately pulled the soldiers on alert to the borders, and Lukashenko asked for help from the Russian aviation to ensure security at the country's borders.
It soon became known that a group of migrants broke through the Polish border, but they were detained by the Polish army, as a result of which the nomads began to march along the fence.
Later, the Belarusian security forces tried to push 35 people to the Polish border, the overwhelming majority of whom were women and children.
It was also reported that the number of migrants who settled on the Belarusian side near the Polish has already exceeded a thousand.
