Maria Kalesnikova, a Belarusian oppositionist and a member of the presidium of the Coordination Council, has been arrested and is currently being held in a pre-trial detention center. This was reported by TUT.by.
"The head of the investigative group of the Main Investigation Department Vasyliuk called me and said that she had been arrested. He offered to bring a package for her," Kolesnikova's husband stated.
The State Border Committee of Belarus also said that it would provide information about Kalesnikova's whereabouts and legal assessment later.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine confirmed that Anton Rodnenkov and Ivan Kravtsov, Belarusian opposition politicians/members of the Coordination Council, crossed the Ukrainian border.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko asks the Ukrainian government to send them back to the country.
"We are asking Ukrainian border guards to return these two to our country; we will be figuring out what happened," Lukashenko said.
He blamed the opposition leaders for violating the order of border crossing.
