On Saturday, October 22, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus has been called Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus Valery Dzhigun regarding the forced return of the Belarusian aircraft. It is reported by the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic corps.

During the meeting, to the head of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry diplomatic mission was handed a note in which Belarusian side expressed protest in connection with the actions of the competent authorities of Ukraine on the forced return of the "Belavia" Airlines aircraft which made a regular flight on the route "Kyiv -Minsk" on October 21, 2016.

As highlighted in the note of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Belarusian side expects an official apology and demands a compensation of all financial costs and expenses caused by the actions of the Ukrainian side.

The Foreign Ministry also instructed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol to hand a similar protest note in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
