Belarus is ready to provide its all developments, documents and recommendations on an organization of effective transplantation system to Ukraine. Olha Bohomolets, MP and Chairman of Committee of Ukrainian Parliament for Health Care reported this on Facebook.

‘I am talking productively to Belarusian medics for a long time, they promised us a full support and help. Today, kidney transplant in Belarus for its every citizen is carried out in every regional hospital. Heart, livers and other organs transplant are undertaken in the transplant center. Everyone who needs this will receive assistance in the most compressed timeframe in the most compressed timeframe and free of charge,’ parliamentarian claimed.

She has also added that the neighbor country makes hundreds of millions of dollars carrying out paid surgeries for foreigners, including Ukrainians. Ukraine transferred $36 million to Belarus, in order to pay the transplants for our patients.

‘We can only welcome the goodwill of Belarusian colleagues and their readiness to help us, since, we have been behind them for decades in the medical field. But, unfortunately, we were not prepared to accept such assistance. The Ministry of Health aborted the preparation of donors and recipients register adopted by the Parliament law on transplant will enter into force from January 1, 2019, in dangerous for people regime, since precisely this donors and recipients register protects from “black transplantation”, the politician believes.

According to the MP, line ministry hasn’t created a transplant-coordinator service yet, hasn’t purchased equipment and medical supplies for hospitals, necessary sub-decrees are not adopted, nothing is done to fulfill the law.

‘And all this means, that sick kids and adults will be waiting in “dead queues” of the Ministry of Health for a treatment abroad, and Ukrainian taxpayers will fund other countries, which develop their transplant system for our money. The leadership of the Ministry of Health has proved again that they can’t hold proper reforms for the sake of people. Neither the President, nor the Prime Minister pay attention to this at all. It is shameful and offensive to see how a lie in power overcomes common sense and the ability to preserve the most precious thing in our country - the lives of people,’ Bohomolets summarized.
