President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko claims that his country is forced to shut down the border with neighboring Lithuania and Poland. The security on the border with Ukraine will be boosted. The politician said so during his speech at women's forum in Minsk, TUT.by reported.

"We're forced to withdraw troops from streets, to mobilize half of our army and shut down the border from the west, first of all, with Lithuania and Poland. Unfortunately, we have to boost the state border with our brotherly Ukraine", Lukashenko said.

The President urged citizens of the neighboring countries - Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland to keep their politicians from igniting a war.

The Ambassadors of the European Union could not agree on the sanctions against Belarus for the dispersal of the protesters and falsification of the elections of the president, as Radio Liberty journalist Rikard Jozwiak reported on Twitter.

The ambassadors will return to the issue of the anti-Belarusian sanctions on September 18.
