The Belarusian KGB, the state security committee considers an option to pardon Ukrainian journalist Pavlo Sharoiko, judged under charges with espionage. Valeriy Vakulchyk, the KGB head said this as quoted by TASS news agency.
'We're looking into the issue of pardoning Sharoiko', the official stated.
Last November, Sharoiko was detained in Belarus; they charged him with espionage, as he almost immediately admitted he had 'worked for Ukraine's military intelligence'. They sentenced him to eight years in prison.
