As reported, on the night of November 7, in Kharkiv, unknown persons fired at the building of the consulate of Azerbaijan. The intruders fired 6 shots, as a result of which the window and the front door were damaged.
After the incident, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan issued a statement, which said that Armenia may be involved in the incident.
"Given the recent threats posed by radical Armenian forces to Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions abroad, this attack on our honorary consulate in Kharkiv should be viewed in the context of these threats," the statement said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also reported that the relevant authorities of the country will interact with the Ukrainian police to investigate the incident.
At the same time, the National Police of Ukraine noted that it is taking the official representations of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Ukraine under protection.
"The police will do everything to detain the persons involved in this audacious crime, and direct their efforts to prevent interethnic conflicts on the territory of our state. All official representations of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be taken under police protection in the near future. We call on everyone, and especially representatives of the diaspora, citizens of both states on the territory of Ukraine, to tolerance and tolerant attitude towards each other, "said the head of the National Police Ihor Klimenko.
