The Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reported about a convoy of military vehicles that successfully entered the Lachin district in Nagorno-Karabakh. Earlier Azerbaijan has already taken control over Agdam and Kalbajar districts as the ministry reported.
“According to the trilateral statement signed by the presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation and prime minister of the Republic of Armenia, the detachments of the Azerbaijani Army entered Lachin District on December 1,” the message said.
On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev agreed to cease the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. About 1,960 Russian peacekeepers with hardware should enter the region for at least five years as the guarantees. According to the agreement, Agdam district should be returned to Azerbaijan until November 20, Kalbajar district – until November 15 and Lachin district should be returned until December 1.
On November 14, Armenia and Azerbaijan started the exchange of the bodies of servicemen killed in the battles in Nagorno-Karabakh.
