Austria will close its borders to foreign tourists at least until December 3 and at most until December 13, 2021. This was reported by the press service of the country's official tourism portal.

This decision was made by the government of the country on Friday, November 19. The restrictions come into effect on November 22.

"From Monday, November 22, a nationwide lockdown will be introduced. This restriction applies to vaccinated and unvaccinated people and will last a maximum of 20 days. After 10 days, a reassessment of the situation and the likelihood of early relaxation of measures will be carried out. Thus, at least until December 3, tourist trips to Austria will be impossible, "the message says.

It will not be possible to visit Austria for tourism purposes at least until December 3 and at most until December 13, although the country's authorities do not plan to completely close the borders.

On November 19, Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said that from February 2022, vaccination against coronavirus will become mandatory for all population groups.
