Julian Assange , the founder of Wikileaks, who is fugitive from justice in the Embassy of Ecuador in London, was deprived of all means of the communication as he violated the written commitment dated 2017 to not spread messages that would entail the interference in the relations with other states as the Ministry of Communications of Ecuador reported.

‘The manner of and timing of Russian diplomatic expulsions is poor diplomacy. The expulsions occurred 12 hours after one of the worst building fires in post-Soviet history, which killed at least 64. Russians will see the timing as gratuitous’, Assange wrote on Twitter.

According to Assange, the fact that the US expelled nearly three times as many diplomats as the UK, the alleged victim country, helps the Kremlin further a narrative that it is under conspiratorial siege led by the US.

‘Further, while it is reasonable for Theresa May to view the Russian state as the leading suspect, so far the evidence is circumstantial and the OCPW has not yet made any independent confirmation, permitting the Kremlin push the view domestically that Russia is persecuted’, he reported.

In August 2012, Ecuador provided Assange with the political asylum. He lives at the territory of the Embassy of Ecuador in London since that time, fearing the extradition to the US.

As it was reported about 30 countries of the world announced the expulsion of 144 workers of the Russian diplomatic missions in the response to the chemical attack in Salisbury. Ukraine also joined the sanctions and claimed the expulsion of 13 diplomats.
