Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov discussed the issues of security situation in Ukraine, as well as the course of the antiterrorist operation in the east of the country with "Atlantic Council” delegation headed by John Herbst, director of the Eurasian "Atlantic Council" program, former US ambassador to Ukraine. It was reported by the press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"The support from the US side in security and political issues is very important for Ukraine," - said Avakov.

The meeting was attended by the director of the "Atlantic Council" cooperation with Ukraine program Adrian Karatnycky, foreign policy expert Paula Dobriansky, head of the US Embassy and the military-political department of the US Embassy in Ukrainian Douglas Hoyt.

Arsen Avakov also shared his vision of overcoming the political crisis and the prospects of re-formatting of the Ukrainian government.

At the end of the meeting Minister of Internal Affairs thanked the American side for the sincere support of Ukraine and expressed his hope for further cooperation.
