President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko claims that the army units located on the country's western border are brought to full combat readiness. According to the politician, there's a coordinated external threat for his country. BELTA quoted him as saying.

"We reacted to this and unfurled combat units of our army on the western borders, making them combat-ready. Defense Minister reported that everything is taken care of, and the units are ready to act according to their commitments", he said.

At that, Lukashenko expressed his regret that he had to deploy some of Special Forces for the crackdown of demonstrations. "Well, that's part of our population. Not that they do not understand it, they just do it for purpose", Lukashenko concluded.
