Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine (SAPO) will appeal the decision of Malyniv District Court towards suspects in Kraian case: Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, his deputy Pavlo Vugelman and other officials of the mayor’s office and businessmen as 112 Ukraine reported citing SAPO Head Nazar Kholodnytsky.
“The court interprets the expert studies in their own way; we will read, analyze and appeal them. We completely disagree with such interpretation as well as we some other issues on delivering of the suspicion, with the fact that the evidence is unacceptable; then we will recognize it and will not file the appeal but if the evidence is acceptable and we, the prosecutors, detectives, see the admissibility of the evidence, which we brought to the court; then we will defend it until the logical conclusion,” Kholodnytsky noted.
At the same time, SAPO Head noted that the prosecutor’s office will appeal the decision of the court.
“According to the Criminal Procedure Code, we have a term for appeal we will hold it, withstand it and definitely file the appeal but we will be able to talk about facts, which guided the court only after study of the verdict,” he added.
On July 9, the court justified Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, his deputy Pavlo Vugelman and other officials of mayor’s office and businesspersons.
As it was reported, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) asked Odesa court to sentence Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov to 12 years in jail. He is accused of acquisition of $3,5 million during the purchase of Krayan plant.
As it was reported earlier, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov is suspected of violating the law due to the fact that he did not declare the property his wife owns.
The NABU detectives under the guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office served charges on Trukhanov due to the suspect of the embezzlement through the malpractice. Moreover, three people were detained on the same criminal proceeding.
The court released Trukhanov on the parole of Dmytro Golubov, the MP of Ukraine. Before this, the clashes near the court took place,38 people were detained.
