Another ex-MP received suspicion for illegal reimbursement of housing costs

Already the third former MP of the Verkhovna Rada has been suspected of receiving illegal compensation for renting housing.  He received 16 thousand dollars from the budget only in recent months. The press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reports.

 “The investigation found that the former MP from the end of 2016 lived in his own apartment in Kyiv. Despite this, he continued to receive compensation for the allegedly paid cost of renting a room in the Kyiv hotel,” - the report says.

 He deliberately did not make an apartment worth about 470 thousand dollars in the declaration in 2016, and from February 2018 to August 2019 he illegally received 16 thousand dollars.

 In the declaration for 2017, the ex-MP did not indicate 225 thousand dollars of income and 220 thousand dollars of expenses in connection with the acquisition of an apartment.

 The former MP is charged with declaring inaccurate information (Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of power or official position (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code).
