Another prosecutor's citation to lift immunity from a Ukrainian MP to be considered by the parliamentary regulatory committee this week. Nazar Kholodnytsky, the head of the National Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, announced that, TSN reported that.
"I have a case against another MP on my desk, it’s a corruption-related crime. I think we’ll bring it by the end of the next week, at least to the regulatory committee,” noted Kholodnytsky.
“We finish our work with these five citations, however the process goes on,” he added.
He also made a guess that one of the MPs “won’t wait until the consideration of his case starts at meeting of the Verkhovna Rada and escape (the country, - ed.)”.
“I can’t guarantee that all 5 MPs, whom we made citations for, wait until the consideration of their cases start at meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, or at least show up in the session room and recognize the decision taken by the Verkhovna Rada. I have no guaratees, but as a Prosecutor I can do nothing with that,” noted the head of the National Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
As it was reported, the officers of National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have detained the bodyguard of people’s deputy Boryslav Rozenblat on $200 thousand bribe. According to SAP, the bribe was intended for MPs Boryslav Rozenblat and Maksym Poliakov, they are denying it and calling the occurrence a "provocation".
Earlier this week, the Regulatory committee found groundless accusations against another Ukrainian MP Deidei of illicit enrichment.
Parliament’s Regulatory committee also found groundless the filing on lifting deputy’s immunity of Oles Dovhy.
The committee didn’t recommend lifting immunity from Andriy Lozovy either, a Ukrainian MP from the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko, as well as from the сorrupt MP Polyakov retains his immunity in Parliament.
On July 7, the General Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted request to Verkovna Rada for consent on bringing to criminal responsibility, apprehension and arrest of people’s deputy Boryslav Rozenblat, who is suspected of undue influence and bribery amounting to $280 thousand. The regulatory committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine found the accusations of the General Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau against Rozenblat groundless and shall recommend lifting his immunity and further investigation.
