The results of presidential elections in Ukraine could be announced in late April. Yevhen Radchenko, the deputy head of the Central Election Committee said that as quoted by RBC-Ukraine news agency.
'The announcement of the official results of elections may last longer due to the spring holidays, specifically Easter', he said.
According to him, the CEC is also concerned because of possible lawsuits against the course of the electoral process; that might affect the terms of the announcement, too.
Radchenko admitted that the CEC could set and announce the results on April 30.
Article 84 of the Law on the Election of the President of Ukraine foresees that the Central Election Committee has ten days to define the results of the presidential election. But this period can not exceed three days since the moment of getting all protocols from district electoral committees and the protocol from the foreign electoral district.
