Anna Herman, the head of the Supervisory Board of the Freedom of Expression Foundation, called on President Zelensky to lay flowers at the site of the tragic events of September 11 during his trip to the USA.
"For Americans, and for President Biden in particular, September will always be a month of remembrance for the victims of September 11. Flying to the United States in September and forgetting to honor the memory of the victims of September 11th is a manifestation of disrespect for the host country and its people. Unfortunately, I did not see or I heard in the first comments of President Zelensky and his wife even memories on this topic. Of course, this is a flaw in the presidential protocol. But it is not too late to fix it," Anna Herman emphasized and added.
"Mr. Zelensky, please, make this gesture of respect for the victims. September 11. This is especially important these days when America says goodbye to the victims of Afghanistan," she underlined.
