The number of Ukrainians, who are illegally kept hostages by the militants of terrorist groups in LNR and DNR, continues to grow. This was reported to journalists by the first-vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko following the meeting with the president of Ukraine.

According to her, Vasyl Grytsak, the head of the Security Service, who was present at the meeting, voiced a new disappointing figure: to date, the number of Ukrainians illegally detained by militants is 170.

"These are the citizens whose relatives have applied to the Security Service, but not all citizens of the ORDLO confirm that they are hostages. To date, only 97 people confirm, 74 citizens will be released on December 27," explained Gerashchenko.

Also, according to her, the president instructed to provide liberated Ukrainians with medical aid, and also promptly deliver them to their families.

Today it became known that the exchange of hostages under the formula "306 for 74" will be held on Wednesday, December 27. The time and place are not reported for security reasons. It is assumed that Ukraine will transfer to militants those individuals whose release is not contrary to the law.
