Another Women's March was held in Minsk in protest against the current government. During the protest actions, 390 people were detained, the press service of the Viasna human rights center reported.
“On Saturday, September 19, the traditional Women's March was held in Minsk. But there were arrests,” the message says.
According to the human rights center, there are 390 names on the list of detainees. The women were detained by riot police officers and people in civilian clothes and uniforms.
Most of them were released from the police department in the evening, after taking their fingerprints. At least 18 people were sent to another police dept.
In addition, people were detained in Mozyr, Vetka, and Lida.
Mass protests against the results of the presidential elections, which took place on August 9, continue in Belarus. Security officials are detaining protesters, as well as opposition leaders. The European Union demands from President Alexander Lukashenko to release the detainees and observe the rights of citizens to peaceful protest. During the rallies, people died. The exact number is unknown.
