All Russian bank accounts of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his family members have been blocked. The politician announced this on his Instagram page.

“Yesterday I learned that not only my and my family members bank accounts were blocked, but even my account as an individual entrepreneur. This is absolutely illegal. Thus, they not only stole all the money I had, but also made it impossible to earn it”, the message says.

The politician also recalled that at the moment, his apartment, current bank accounts, and the account of an individual entrepreneur were arrested.

Earlier the EU Committee of Permanent Representatives has approved sanctions against 6 individuals and one company due to the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was announced by the Radio Liberty correspondent Rikard Jozwiak on Twitter.

"The EU ambassadors have given the green light to sanctions against six people and one company involved in the poisoning of Alexei Navalny. The decision should be published in the EU Official Journal tomorrow," he wrote.

On August 20, while returning to Moscow from Tomsk, Alexei Navalny became ill during the flight, so the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk. The Russian oppositionist was hospitalized in serious condition. On August 21, Omsk doctors allowed the politician to be transported to Germany. He underwent treatment at the German clinic "Charite". On September 22, the Russian oppositionist was discharged from the hospital.
