More than 2.2 million USD reimbursed to Ukrainian air carriers

The Ministry of Infrastructure provided partial reimbursement of expenses to four airlines in the amount of UAH 60.7 million (2.2 million USD) for the evacuation of Ukrainians from abroad in March 2020 in connection with the introduction of quarantine. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

"The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine provided partial reimbursement of the costs incurred by Ukrainian airlines in March 2020. Then the airlines carried out international flights on an irregular basis in order to return Ukrainian citizens home in connection with the introduction of quarantine restrictions," the message says.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, more than UAH 60.7 million (2.2 million USD) has been reimbursed to Ukrainian air carriers.

It is noted that the funds were reimbursed to four Ukrainian airlines: Skyup Aviation LLC, Azur Air Ukraine LLC, Windrose Aviation Company LLC and Ukraine International Airlines PJSC.

In November, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure for using public funds to reimburse Ukrainian air carriers during the coronavirus pandemic.
