The Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine (AMPU) files claims to the Government of Russia to pay compensation for the losses incurred due to the temporary occupation of the Crimea. This was reported on the website of the AMPU.

"The cost of state property, which was assigned to the branches of the AMPU and illegally appropriated by the self-proclaimed authorities of Crimea, is more than 51 million dollars,” the Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine stated.

AMPU has earlier provided information about the own assets on the Peninsula to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which filed a general claim to the European Court of Human Rights.

"This time we are using the provisions of the Agreement on Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments. The first step is to submit claims for compensation directly to the Government of the Russian Federation. If we do not receive an answer within six months, this case will be submitted to international arbitration," the head of the AMPU, Raivis Veckagans emphasized.

As we reported earlier, in the case of the Russian Federation’s defeat in the International Court of Justice, Ukraine will demand compensation for the financing of terrorism and racial discrimination in Crimea. It was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Olena Zerkal.
