The activist who cooperated with Temporary Investigation Commission, which investigates the murder of Kateryna Handziuk and attack at other public figures, was beaten up in the Kherson region as MP Ihor Lutsenko reported on Facebook.
“The other day there was the attack at the local activist. A few criminals with bats, in balaclavas attacked in daytime near the entrance to his apartment. The activist asked not to call his name and all details,” he wrote.
The MP thinks that the attack is connected with the activity of the Temporary Investigation Commission as the perpetrators passed “hello” during the attack at those, who help the commission.
“I received the information that suspect Pavlovsky, who, as the investigation thinks, is one of the organizers of Handziuk’s murder paid for the “punishment” of one of the witnesses who gave testimony to our commission,” Lutsenko added.
The MP also reported that the representative of the local organization “Nobody but us” supervise this witness.
Lutsenko also reported that he appealed to the law enforcers due to the attack.
Moreover, the MP said that the activist is hidden after the attack “as it is dangerous to send him to the ordinary hospital” as Hromadske reported,
November 4, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died aged 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, the death was caused by thrombus detachment.
Besides, the official reason for the death of Handziuk was specified. It was multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed his condolences in accordance with the death of the adviser. He required the law enforcement bodies to do everything possible to find the murderers and punish them.
On November 12, the court arrested suspect in Handziuk case Igor Pavlovsky, as Ukraine’s Security Service Head Vasyl Hrytsak said.
